About us

Erin Hammond began Aster & Bay in 2012 as an experimental project while she was undergoing training in western herbalism. After having lived in both Edinburgh, Scotland and Atlanta, Georgia, she was inspired by the botanical diversity and herbal lore of both places- the Appalachian Mountains and the Scottish Highlands- and sought to incorporate as many of these indigenous ingredients into her formulations as possible.

Now back in Scotland, Aster & Bay is run by Erin and her husband Glen out of an old biscuit factory in Edinburgh. Whether it's sourcing local herbs from the Highlands or sea salt from the British coastline, Aster & Bay is still rooted in the spirit of whole plant ingredients, minimalism, and craft.
